Good place for some business drinks. Lunch is too expensive.. Not worth going for a meal unless you've got someone very important to impress. Nice balcony...
This place is always packed almost every weekday evening. It is the place that expat professionals go right after work to network and chill out for a little while. However, the crowd seems just a little bit too uptight for a place to unwind.
I love to come here and just sit on the stairs to the right of the bar and have a few drinks. Great place to catch up with friends. It’s right off the escalator too.
Overpriced drinks stuffed w bankers .. well guess that’s all of LKF and Soho for you.
Popular with a more local crowd. Last time I was here, found a pack of CX airhostesses .. not bad!
I don’t really like clubs that are in the basement… It makes me feel claustrophobic. It’s a big club, but no one shows up until at earliest midnight. Volar is more like club for after partiers because everyone shows up either wasted or exhausted. The black light reminds me of a rave party. The dance floor is big, with a large screen at the back. Drinks are expensive, and the people aren’t that fun. I guess this is more for big group parties.
It’s one of the most exclusive clubs ever! They wouldn’t even let members in whenever there’s a “private function”.
Spacious and classy! I really like the fancy furniture; made me feel like I was in a 5 star hotel. There are plenty of tables so you can easily bring in 5-10 people if you make reservations. But even hanging by the bar isn’t all that bad either. I went there for someone’s birthday the other day, and I thought it was the ideal place to hold small parties or social gatherings. And the best part is, it’s just at the beginning of LKF, so you don’t have to walk too far up the hill.
A very mainstream bar / lounge with outrageously loud music and a very wide range of demographic. It’s usually very crowded, so don’t expect to find a seat. Though it’s a relatively large bar, somehow, I feel claustrophobic, especially on the second floor. The drinks are decent, but the music is just too loud for a lounge with barely any room to dance. The seats on the second floor aren’t very comfortable either. Ok la…
I went there last night with a few of my friends and we had an awesome time. The atmosphere is great and the music is great! There are a lot of people hanging by the entrance so we had chance to meet some of them. We dropped by Fong “Underground” afterwards, which was like a club... There is a dance floor by the bar and the music’s not bad. Worth going.
Right in the middle of LKF, lots of traffic and great music. They also serve hookahs and FOOD! In fact, there’s a restaurant on the second floor. The bartenders know how to do magic tricks, so if you ever bring a date, you can ask one of the bartenders to put on a good show! The only problem is that they overcharge all the time! For example, a chilled night with a couple of guys could cost hkd 600 – 700. And a crazy night with a group of 5 or 6 could cost up to hkd 5k… Better to spend that amount at Prive instead.
Expensive, expensive, expensive! I don’t really check the bills usually, but this place charges me sooo much every time I go. But I still go anyway, coz it’s right in the middle of the lan kwai fong area and the have hookah! I like how the bar is very long because then you can see everyone when you’re by the bar. Good place, but check your bill!
One of the few lounges with a large balcony above LKF; Great for private functions and birthday parties. They serve hookah’s which goes fantastic with a cold beer. But the last time I went, they forced me to pay for membership (hkd 2,000)… So unless you plan on visiting the lounge frequently, you can just hang out at Beirut which is just across the street.
If you ever feel like having a drink with a buddy or a small group of friends after work, Chocolate is where you want to be. Great clubbing music (there’s a DJ inside of a wall at about 15 feet high), two large screens to watch sports or music videos, and the place never gets too crowded. There’s a 7/11 next door, so you can always buy a bag of chips and share it at the bar.
The place is a little small, but it never gets packed. The DJ isn’t bad and the bar makes good drinks. They have this famous “chocolate” shot which is worth trying I guess. One of my friends said “ok, this is my new favorite shot!” I always get the mandarin vodka, my personal favorite drink.
Don’t bother going on weekends because if you’re reading this, that means you won’t be able to get in. Otherwise, Thursday nights are ladies’ nights, so there’s usually a good crowd by midnight. Sometimes they hold special functions where they give you free drinks and all kinds of free stuff for promotions. Just keep your eyes open.
By far my favorite club in Hong Kong. I go there with my friends almost every weekend. All you need is a table and a bottle, and then you’ll be all set. But be prepared to pay! If you don’t want to stand in line, try going later at around 1:30 – 2:00 when it’s less crowded. Or, you can get there earlier, at around 10:00pm.
Went there last night with my colleagues.. They hire models as bartenders. The place is very spacious, so good for large gatherings. And the music is not so loud. The mixed drinks are ok la... Good place to hang out before dinner time.
